Separation in men: Possible causes

Colorless discharge, so-called leukorrhea, is found in all women. Their appearance is considered normal. Little do you know, but a man's body can also expel fluids. Men usually pay less attention to this than women, but only until whites are particularly prolific and begin to cause any discomfort.

Male discharge during arousal

What discharge is considered normal in men

Discharge in men is the appearance of different colored fluid or mucus from the outside of the urethra. This phenomenon is most often the norm, but in some cases may indicate the presence of disease.

The appearance of abundant secretions is quite easy to notice. They may appear throughout the day, after prolonged sleep or urination. Scanty discharge from the urethra is observed with the appearance of fleshy or white spots on the underwear.

The process is considered normal in the following cases:

  • With strong sexual arousal, against the background of an erection (smegma, natural lubrication);
  • During wet dreaming (spontaneous eruption of sperm);
  • With attempts at defecation;

It should be noted that the appearance of a small amount of white or transparent fluid on the head of the penis during strong arousal is not considered a deviation from the norm, on the contrary, it indicates a man's reproductive health.

Anxiety should cause leucorrhea to appear beyond sexual contact when the penis is not in an aroused state. Their appearance most often indicates the presence of any inflammatory process in the organs of the reproductive system. A specialist can make an accurate diagnosis by conducting a diagnostic examination. Often the appearance of a discharge from the urethra is one of the main symptoms of a sexually transmitted disease such as chlamydia. Such a phenomenon is often ridiculed, they say: "drops from the end", but there is nothing funny in the existence of the disease.

White, gray, yellow or transparent - whatever the color may mean

Male discharge, like female discharge, can vary in color, transparency, and consistency. These signs vary according to the disease that caused the appearance of the whites, its intensity and stage. Discharge is usually a combination of cells, fluid, and mucus. Transparency usually depends on the number of cells in them. The thinness of the whites indicates the presence of a large number of cells in them, a large number of fluid from the epithelial cells becomes thicker and acquires a grayish tinge. The greenish and yellow color is a sign of an excess of leukocytes in them. A white, cheese-like discharge from the urethra indicates the presence of a disease such as candidiasis (thrush).

Male candidiasis is a rare occurrence. Its cause may be impaired immunity, uncontrolled use of antibiotics, chemotherapy, etc. Sh. A man whose immunity is normal will never get candidiasis from a sexual partner. Therefore, the detection of its main symptom is the reason for contacting specialists and passing a full diagnosis of the body.

When a patient complains of a discharge from the urethra, the doctor usually sends it for analysis. Under laboratory conditions, they have been carefully studied. Using a microscope you can determine the presence of trichomes, gonococci, yeast fungi in the patient's body. If bacteria are detected that cannot be identified by microscopic method, it is recommended to sow the secretion in a nutrient medium. Treatment is most often with antibiotics, however, until a correct diagnosis is made, taking medication does not make sense. In such cases, the doctor prescribes a wide range of antibiotics, and specialized medications for diagnosis. Self-medication usually does not bring positive results, but, on the contrary, promotes the transition to a latent chronic form of the disease.

Fluid is excreted from the urethra as the body responds to the presence of any infection in it. By their abundance we can judge the extent of the development of this infection. Often the main reason for the appearance of leukorrhea in men is the development of a disease called urethritis (inflammation of the urethra). In this case the mucous membrane produces a large amount of mucus and red blood cells, which are protective factors. The fluid that collects at the site of inflammation is also mixed with the secretion.

The second most common cause of discharge in men is mechanical damage to the urethra, which contains chemicals in the urine, salt crystals. The appearance of small stones in the kidneys also contributes to damage to the inner wall of the urethra.

White fluid, itching and burning - what is it?

A white discharge from the urethra, accompanied by severe itching and burning, is a sign:

  • Chlamydia (an infectious disease transmitted through unprotected sex, the causative agent of which is considered to be chlamydia);
  • Mycoplasmosis (a common infectious disease caused by mycoplasmas - organisms between bacteria and viruses);
  • Urethroplasmosis (an infectious, sexually transmitted disease, the main causative agent of which is considered to be single-celled organisms - urethroplasms).

White discharge, which has a foamy consistency, often indicates the presence of the most common infectious, sexually transmitted disease in the body - trichomoniasis.

Finally, the appearance of white fluid from the urethra can be a very unpleasant and dangerous disease - one of the symptoms of prostatitis. In this case, the appearance of leukorrhea is usually accompanied by difficulty in the process of urination and disruption of sexual life. Occasionally there is a discharge from the prostate or urethra. An accurate diagnosis is always made only by a urologist.

As you can see, in many cases, the appearance of discharge in men is an important cause for concern and emergency medical care, because the treatment of most diseases of the genitourinary system, which is not started in time, can lead to serious consequences such as impotence or infertility.
